Supporting our Sisters, Honoring our Mother
We are so proud of our friend @anaisa31 & her work with the Wayuu tribe in La Guajira, the deserted region of Colombia.
An area rich with culture, long preserved by the matrilineal Wayuu tribe, since 150AD.
Known as the sun, sand and wind people, the Wayuu have long fought to protect their lands, heritage & traditions against the Spanish Inquisition, government control, and today, multinational greed in the form of one of the largest open coal mines in the world – El Carrejón.
They are now fighting for their survival, deprived of basic human rights, from water contamination, air pollution & subsequent malnutrition.
The Wayuu are just one example, of indigenous land protectors of Air, Earth & Water, around the world. While the richest and most powerful drive our society to destruction, it is ironic that the so called ‘least advanced’ people are taking the lead in protecting us all.
All of our Soul Seed Gathering work is driven to promote, celebrate and honor indigenous peoples, and the Earth they care for. We have a lot to learn!
For our Chapter 2 we are traveling to Colombia 🇨🇴
First, in January, for our research & documentary expedition (contact us directly to apply, if interested in joining, as we have only a few spaces for this adventurous side of the project)
& in May 25th-30th, 2018 for our women’s gathering – ‘Heart of the Great Mother’, a fully immersive cultural celebration, where all our proceeds go to supporting this work – to elevate and raise awareness for indigenous practices around the world, all through the lens of women.
